S. Korea approves fast-track commercialization of artificial corneal transplant

SEOUL — South Korea’s drug ministry paved a way for a new treatment of corneal disorders by approving artificial corneas as an innovative medical device for the first time. The ministry said the device will provide new treatment opportunities for patients suffering from severe eye problems which can lead to blindness.
