A little-known fact is that needless blindness is a cause and is also a consequence of extreme poverty. That’s why Tej Kohli and Dr Sanduk Ruit are making large-scale treatment interventions to cure blindness in the poorest communities of the developing world.
The 18-year-old, from Ealing, West London was born with a congenital limb deficiency, which means her left arm stops just below the elbow.
But just two weeks ago, she received a bionic arm, which can be controlled by her thoughts, just like her right arm.
Although her new arm is still a novelty, Gracie feels it will be a huge help for her future and her dreams of performing in West End or Broadway shows.

Tej Kohli’s latest project is on track to cure 500,000 of blindness in the developing world by 2030 as part of the #2030InSight mission to achieve the #1 UN Sustainable Development Goal of ending poverty everywhere.
Kohli, a 61-year-old technology investor, is seated in an armchair in a private room at 5 Hertford Street, the exclusive private members club where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had one of their first dates.
